Dry Granulator MSL 12/28-240




The dry-microgranulator for laboratory allows to get, in short time, small samples, for the next use in the production, of masterbatches with thermoplastic base (elements) like: PET, PA, PC, PP, PE, PMMA, PS, PVC etc, liquid crystal etc., of shapes and dimensions normally in commerce. The system enables the granulation of any thermoplastic material without using water for the cooling of the material, allowing the use of the granules immediately after their extrusion, avoiding the drying process. The granulation plant with extruder Ø 12/28D can produce from few grams up to some kilos per hour. We have studied a screw which assures very good mixing characteristics, and gives a good result in colour uniformity, preventing a bad mixing of the grinded material with the neutral one (like in the use of master), which is very often cause of colour difference in the product. The screw of the extruder is protected by a safety joint at calibrated breaking. Different pneumatic controls move the extruder allowing the release of the head from the granulating disk enabling the cleaning of the die in a short time and a quick extraction of the screw. This microplant is mainly used in: - Laboratories - homespun yarn field.

Filter Test unit for Masterbatches




The Gimac filter test unit is suitable to test various masterbatches for different polymers and basically consists of:

- 1 microextruder Ø14/24D
- 1 pressure feeler that controls the speed of the of the screw
- 1 melt gear pump managed by an A.C. drive with current- and speed display
- 1 pressure feeler connected to a pressure recorder
- 1 filter Ø52,5mm that can be easily replaced with different porosities, as regards the various exigencies of the polymers
- 1 electric control panel with temperature control system and recorder for the storage of the pressure- and temperature variations during the process

The machine is suitable to test different kinds of thermoplastic material like: PET, PA, PC, PE, PP, PMMA, PS and others, included liquid crystals (on request it can also be supplied for fluoropolymers processing).

The working process of the machine is based on the difference of pressure wich is recorded each time that the filter is obstructed from the impurities of the masterbatch. The test is based on small quantities of material which are tested in a period of time that can be changed on request. Normally the test is effected on 1 Kg of material in a period of 60 minutes.

This test enables to decide the good quality of one masterbatch since, if it has a good dispersion and a fine microgranulometry it allows very long spinning productions between the cleaning operation of one die and the other, avoiding expensive and frequent production stops.
